Likes Ain't Cash

How to make money on 𝕏

read time 4 minutes

Let’s gooo! It’s Friday! The weekend is almost here and I’m all for it. This weekend I’m going to take a little break, I really need it because this week was intense.

This week I went viral.

Really viral.

I wrote this thread on Twitter (or 𝕏 as it’s called now) and it popped off. The main tweet got 2.6M impressions but this one actually got even more (6.6M).

Altogether, this thread got me:

  • 400 newsletter subscribers

  • 1800 followers

  • 11M impressions

Anyway, here’s your favourite read before the weekend, the Growth Guide.

Anyway, before the weekend hits, here’s this week’s Growth Guide.

🌱 Likes Ain’t Cash

If you follow me there’s a good chance you know who JK Molina is and his catchphrase “likes ain’t cash”. This week I experienced this first-hand again. I managed to hit 15 million impressions but how do you turn that into actual $$$?

There’s a couple things you can do:

  1. Subscriptions: This was introduced a few months back and you can ask people to subscribe to your 𝕏. Make sure you have a clear value proposition for them and why they should subscribe. It could be deep-dive content or extra attention.

  2. Creator Payments: Hit 15M impressions over 90 days and you will be eligible for a share of 𝕏’s Ad Revenue.

  3. Funnel for business: Whether you run an agency, copywriting business, marketing service or consultancy (as I do), your 𝕏 is your first part of the funnel. This is where people see you and find out about you.

  4. Micropayments: hese are coming to 𝕏 soon. What does this mean? It could mean that I could publish this newsletter on 𝕏 and make it viewable after paying a small amount of $.

  5. Digital Products: Selling digital products and using 𝕏 for marketing is a proven way to make money. The good thing is that once the product is finished, it’s easily scalable since all you have to do is keep marketing it. Digital Products can be courses, Notion templates etc.

  6. Brand Deals: Find a brand that aligns with your mission and vision and where you can mutually benefit from the exposure. You could wear an affiliate badge or put their @ in your bio. These deals are great because they usually work with an equity stake or monthly retainer.

🕊️ Growth Guide: Fred

I have been working with Fred to grow his Twitter account over the past couple of weeks.

He’s the founder of LuckySeaGG and a genuinely super nice dude.

In just 1 week we managed to overhaul his 𝕏 profile and het gained 738 followers.
