From visitor to follower

How to convert profile clicks

read time 3 minutes

Let’s gooo! It’s Friday! The weekend is almost here which means a break from the screens for some. For others it’s a chance to get ahead. Both are fine. Recently I’ve learned that work-life balance can take many forms. Just because some people take the weekend off doesn’t mean you have to do the same.

This week was the week of milestones. I’ve started taking my Twitter seriously 3 months ago and launched the Growth Guide about a month ago and I’ve turned both into profitable business. This week we achieved:

  • First Twitter Thread with 1,000 likes

  • First Twitter post with 2,000 likes

  • #15 on NFT Inspect with a 12% Global Reach

  • First Twitter Sponsor

  • First Newsletter Sponsor

Things are really starting to heat up but now is the time to push through. Let’s grow together.

Anyway, before the weekend hits, here’s this week’s Growth Guide.

  1. Main: From visitor to follower

  2. Thread Curation: Best of Web3

  3. Community growth

Main: From visitor to follower (bio)

You have been creating content, you have been replying to large accounts to get exposure, you have been building your network. All of these lead to profile clicks. But profile clicks are not followers. So how do you convert those valuable profile clicks into actual followers?

There are 4 elements: (in order of which people look at)

  • Profile picture

  • Banner

  • Pinned Tweet

  • Bio

Bio

This entire process takes about 3 seconds. This means you have to grab attention… fast. Let’s look at the bio today. It’s the last chance to hook people in, after this, they will go back to scrolling. For this reason, it is important that your bio is short and concise. It has to convey what you do, what you offer and why people should follow you. The order

This will be your last chance to draw people in. When they visit your profile, they look at the visuals first (banner, pfp, pinned tweet) and read the bio after. If it’s not captivating enough, you will lose your potential follower.

In this example I have added a part “Branding” as well which is optional. For me it’s important because I brand myself as the Writing Bean and I want people to know me for my brand. The pencil and glasses logo come directly from the profile picture and are another aspect to the branding.

The other parts are non-negotiable. Use this template to guarantee a well-structured bio.

Feel free to use this template:

Branding or small phrase | What do I offer? | Why would people follow me? | What have I achieved or what am I building?

Use relevant keywords to increase your visibility. Emojis can break up the text nicely. I promise you by doing this your visitor to follower conversion will increase - by a lot.

Thread Curation: Best of Web3

It’s been a busy week on Twitter with a lot of news going around. Bitcoins are running hot, Web3 Gaming seems to be fueling up and ofcourse the Borovik iPhone scandal and everything that followed. Here’s my personal curated list of the 5 best threads. Read those and grow your knowledge. Some absolute bangers this week.

This is the first time ever I am featuring one of my own threads here.

This subject is very important and I urge you all to read this. I’ve written another thread on Shadowbans too which touches on similar concepts. If you care about your Twitter account, these are must reads:
